About De

De Sube grew up in the business community. Her Father, Walter Sube was a JCPenney store manager for nearly fifty years. From an early age, she helped her father build newspaper advertisments and create visual merchandise presentations. De has lived in Michigan,New York, Massachusetts and Virginia. She went to high school in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

She graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She worked in the retail industry for JCPenney, and Proffitt-Parisian for 30 years in various management positions including store management; merchandise management; human resources; and marketing.  Her areas of expertise are human resources; merchandise management; business organizational skills; advertising; planning, organizing and executing special publicity events; traditional, internet and guerilla marketing.

In 1996, She became an international business consultant contracting to many companies including Gordon Brothers Group of Boston. As an international business consultant, she downsized and liquidated various department stores and other businesses including Macy, Rite Aid, Woolworth, Montgomery Ward, and British Home Stores.

Wanting to settle down in Hampton Roads Virginia and transition, she formed De Sube Business and Marketing Consulting, focusing on retail sales, human resources, and marketing.

In May 2006, She created and became the facilitator of New Life Transgender Outreach, NLTO, a ministry and Transgender support group within New Life MCC of Hampton Roads. NLTO has evolved into the Gender Expression Movement (GEM) @ The Rainbow Bridge Connection of Hampton Roads which has reached out to many Transgender people and allies through events such as the Hampton Roads Transgender Day of Remembrance, monthly peer support group meetings, monthly significant other/non transitioning facilitated support group meetings and Trans Masculine peer support group meetings.

She is currently devoting time to her passion of being a Transgender activist; contributing to the formation of the Gender Expression Project @ Rainbow Bridge Connection of Hampton Roads, a nonprofit social service organization; member of Trans Rights of Virginia; member of The Virginia Transgender Task Force; and Equality Virginia's Transgender Caucus. She was the co organizer of the 2008 Standing United: Becoming More Inclusive Conference at Old Dominion University.
