I do not have high hopes an Employment Non-Discrimination Act - ENDA will get any further in Congress than it has in the past. It would be naive to think it would considering the current conservative political climate. Reintroducing ENDA has longer-term goals. It gives Transgender advocates the opportunity to further educate Congress and the American public at large on Transgender issues. I would prefer to see ENDA enacted into law now, but, if we have to wait for the right moment, this is our destiny. We cannot quit. We cannot be negative. We must remain positive and continue the good fight. The truth is on our side.

At this point, with the current make up of the House, this is nothing more than political posturing as this stands about the same chance of even getting out of committee that the tissue paper dog has in chasing the asbestos cat through hell.
I would also like to note that the sponsor of the bill has a career-long record of being highly transphobic to the point of being downright antagonistic and brutal in his commentaries on the transgender population. We still haven't heard what back room deals he cut with the opponents on the last go-round.
Suffice it to say, while this may change a few minds, I doubt that the amount of gains this will make will be in any way significant. No doubt the dinosaur will again spew forth his vitriolic comments about penises in women's shower facilities.
