ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A new survey is collecting information from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Anchorage about discrimination.

Survey coordinators say it's the first comprehensive survey in more two decades. It's also the first to gather information about the experiences of transgender Alaskans.
The survey is an effort Identity, Inc., Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association, Alaskans Together for Equality, Equality Works, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Alaska.
The project's Melissa Green says such data is crucial to understanding the community's needs.

The survey is online at http://alaskacommunity.org/.
