This really surprised me. I assumed (dangerous to do but I did it - (-;) scientists, scientific organizations, scientific corporations and institutes of higher learning are inclusive and accepting of everyone. I knew the scientific community is the good ol' white boys club. Also, I knew the scientific community has a notorious reputation for being misogynistic so I guess it is not too far a stretch to say there is Transphobia, homophobia and racism within the scientific world.
There appears to be some hope, though, based on the following article. I hope the scientific community can rise above such primitive thought processes or my theory will hold true.
