Regulate Coal Ash: Environmental Rights Intersect Transgender Rights In Many Ways

CREDO Action | more than a network. a movement.
Regulate coal ash
Take action!
The League of Conservation Voters and CREDO Action are teaming up to help protect our planet from dangerous coal ash.
The EPA has a real opportunity to put an end to decades of loosely regulated toxic coal ash disposal. But they're seriously considering maintaining the status quo and letting Dirty Coal continue its assault on our environment.
The EPA is now accepting public comments on its proposed rules. This is your opportunity to send a message directly to people who are in power and ask them to strongly regulate toxic coal ash disposal.
Coal-fired power plants companies are producing more than 130 million tons of coal ash every year. That's enough waste annually to fill train cars from the North Pole to the South Pole!
Coal ash is loosely regulated on a state-by-state basis. In some states, it's less regulated than household waste. All too often, coal ash gets dumped into waste ponds and even our landfills- and from there it leaks into our drinking water and fragile ecosystems.
And you know what is even more alarming? Coal ash contains toxins like arsenic, chromium, lead and mercury. And there are next to no federal regulations on it.
With your help, we can ensure that the EPA strengthens coal ash regulations and protects the environment from the perils of toxic coal ash.
Thank you. Your pressure works.
