A "No Brainer" For Face Book: Include Transgender

This relates to the previous post Microsoft Says Transgender Is OK. This would be a "no brainer" for Face Book. Face Book could actually provide some much needed statistics on Transgender, Bisexual, Gay and Intersex people.

Yet, they resist doing the right thing with comments like Naomi Gleit's quote below suggesting Transgender people to remove their gender entirely from their Face Book profiles. She doesn't have a clue. Does she? She is suggesting Transgender people remove from their identity the most important possession we have - our gender identity.

Yep, that's the ticket Ms Gleit. Trying to make Transgender and gender non-conforming people invisible is the wrong answer. Transgender people are not invisible. We will not go away.

Face Book owners should reevaluate this position. As with Microsoft, if they say they are all inclusive, they should reflect that in their product.

Transgender call for Facebook

QUEENSLAND'S gay and lesbian community has demanded Facebook widen its profile options to include transgenders.
Simply clicking male or female when signing up to the social networking website is too limiting, interest groups say.
"They should definitely do it and they'd be quite surprised by how many people there are in the community who are transgender that do use Facebook," said Shelley Argent, spokeswoman for Brisbane's Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays Association.
Dr Angela Dwyer, from the Queensland University of Technology law faculty, said Facebook needed to accommodate the wide range of young people who use the website.
"Gay, bisexual, same-sex attracted and then with gender there's transsexual, transgender - they're all words with which people identify themselves."
Facebook product manager Naomi Gleit said people could "remove gender entirely from your account, including how we refer to you in Mini-Feed".

Stop Hijacking the Intersex name and the Intersex community. Intersex people are in no way part of your trans crap. Intersex people are not trans and Intersex people find it very derogatory when you put intersex people with the trans people.

On one point you are correct. Intersex people and Transgender people are two distinct groups although there is a distinct commonality. Both groups are marginalized by society at large. Please read the header.
The intent of mentioning the Intersex community at any point in this blog is one of inclusion and respect not "hijacking." There is absolutely no difference between mentioning the Bisexual, Lesbian and Gay communities and the Intersex community in a show of support and solidarity.
Calling the Transgender community "crap," as you did is sophomoric and derogatory. Name calling does not accomplish anything other than driving a wedge between two completely separate groups of people attempting to live their lives in peace.

The fact is Intersex people do not want to be included in any transgender crap. By Mentioning intersex people, you are co-opting and misappropriating the intersex community. By stealing the intersex community and forcefully adding the intersex to you so called transgender crap. You are erasing the intersex community.

Wow, someone has got serious anger issues. See this is why the entire LGBT community is even more divided today than ever. People like this individual who criticize other groups because they don't meet his criteria and standards ever widen the gaps between the groups. last time I checked, "crap" wasn't in the DSM or any other medical journal unless referring to fecal matter. "Your" group/community is no more special than the transgender community. I have tremendous doubt that the intersex community lobbied you as the spokes person, so beating down other groups for your sense of expressing a thought is quite childish. All the article did was make note that the label was there for those who care to choose it if they do not fit the male female gender binary, that simple. Never once claiming that you were part of any community other than you didn't fit into the male or female social binary.
