Minneapolis 1/6/2010- Minnesota's premiere transgender fronted band, All the Pretty Horses, will be filming their six city, winter tour. This footage has been requested for consideration in the development of a new television project by a producer of the Food Channel and possible consideration for a project on the Travel Channel. The footage will also be used as part of band leader, Venus Demars', own film project.
The tour, The 3D House of Small Places, focuses on smaller venues, allowing the fan base to watch the band in an intimate setting and be part of the film project. "We invite the fans to come and be part of it," said DeMars.
DeMars will be taking her vinyl record collection and art work on tour with the band. Three of the shows will feature DeMars disc jockeying between music sets. The Jan. 14, show in Tuscon, Ariz., will feature the band as well as DeMars' art collection of personal drawings and paintings.
All the Pretty Horses have been making music and touring for 15 years. They currently have four studio albums out and will be one of the featured bands on a Minnesota music collective disc, being released in April 2010, by Dead Sound Music Company. "Venus DeMars and All the Pretty Horses are the epitome of what glam has always wanted to be, but never quite achieved…until now," said Devlin Andersen, co-founder of Dead Sound Music Company, LLC.
DeMars has worked on other film projects including, 'My Skin Is A Map' with Tim Miller, 'Unforgiven Fire' and 'Stolen Shadows' with John Killacky, 'HorseHead', 'Slap-Drag-Ons', and multiple music videos. Footage of one of her projects was used within the award winning documentary: 'Venus of Mars' (http://www.venusofmars.com), by Emily Goldberg.
DeMars' story of his/her transgender transition and musical aspirations, is also featured in the documentary, "Venus of Mars".
The band will kick off the tour at Kirby's Beer Store (3227 E. 17th St. 67208) in Wichita, Kan., Jan. 11 at 9 p.m., admission is free and the show is restricted to ages 21 and up.

Great post as for me. I'd like to read more concerning this theme. The only thing this blog misses is some pics of some devices.

What a crock. The Pretty Horses were a great all trans band till the vocalist fired all the other Trans memebers because she thought an all trans band couldnt be taken seriously but then renamed the band around herself, kinda explains the vinyl dj driven tiny club tour of only 6 shows. Im sorry but its shameful when a transperson has so little Trans Pride that they push other trans individuals away.
