SHOPPERS at the newest store in Tetbury may have been forgiven for doing a double-take on Saturday when it was opened by a six foot four inch tranvestite.

Miss Penny was invited to cut the ribbon at Totally Potter, a new gift shop at Chipping Court Shopping Mall, Tetbury.

Shop owner Ali Potter said: "All the comments we had were that it is a nice affordable shop and it has been busy since.

"Everybody loved her [Miss Penny] even the mayor. They went for a walk around the tow ncenrte and cars were stopping in the middle of the road – it brought traffic to a halt."
