Some organizations may arrange remembrance memorial events on different days this week, so check with your local organization to find out when memorials will be held in your area. You can also find various scheduled memorial events on the International Transgender Day of Remembrance Web project.To kick off Transgender Awareness Week, there will be a special charity broadcast on TransFM Internet Broadcasting Network, hosted by Ethan St. Pierre. During this broadcast, from 6 – 10 p.m. EST today, November 15, funds will be raised for the Transgender Emergency Fund (TEF).The Transgender Emergency Fund was created to provide critical assistance to low-income transgender people. Through the fund's intervention, trans people have been able to avoid homelessness, maintain access to health care, and live with greater dignity and stability.Guests on tonight’s TransFM broadcast will include Gunner Scott, Director of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC), Jesse Pack, co-founder of TEF, members of the current steering committee, and many more.You can tune in live tonight and listen directly from the TransFM Web site.
