Transgender activists are calling a protest that interrupted a memorial event on Saturday “disgusting” and “inappropriate.”A crowd of about 50 gathered at Enterprise Square on the Transgender Day of Remembrance to honour victims who met violent ends.Midway through the memorial service, a lone protester appeared holding a sign bearing the words “God created man and woman.”“As a transperson, you’re always looking over your shoulder, as it is,” said activist Jan Buterman, who spoke at the memorial.“… We were honouring our dead — not the time to make a political statement.”
