A TRANSSEXUAL burglar who stole make-up and women’s clothes has been spared jail after a judge took pity on her.
Hard-up Thea Cox, 54, who was born Timothy, broke into student accommodation six times to steal clothing and toiletries.
Thea, who changed her name after a £12,000 sex change, burgled the homes while residents slept.
She carried out her raids while wearing an electronic tag under a suspended prison sentence following a conviction for possession of an offensive weapon.
Cox pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary but, instead of jailing her, Recorder Kevin Hann QC handed Cox an extended nine-month sentence, suspended for two years.
Hann even praised Cox, of Exeter, for staying out of trouble....
