.....The push to amend New York’s hate crimes law comes as the House of Representatives passed a measure last week that would expand the definition of hate crimes under federal law to include a victim’s sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. Crimes stemming from a victim’s race, color, religion or national origin area are already included under the federal law......
