Task Force Action Alert

Task Force Action Fund: Action Alert
Have you heard it? The death knell for marriage discrimination is ringing loud and clear. I just got back from a press conference where Reps. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) and Jared Polis (D-Colo.), along with Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), John Lewis (D-Ga.), Nydia Velazquez (D-N.Y.) and Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), introduced the Respect for Marriage Act. This critical bill would at long last repeal the discriminatory and immoral Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) — federal legislation that singles out legally married same-sex couples for inequitable treatment, denying those couples more than 1,100 federal protections and responsibilities that otherwise apply to married couples. Help us fight to repeal DOMA and pass the Respect for Marriage Act today. I know we've been asking you to take action a lot lately, but with so much at stake for the LGBT community, this is when we need your activism the most. From ENDA, to hate crimes, to the repeal of DOMA — your actions make a difference. In fact, without your voice we won't stand a chance against the right wing, which will do all it can to drown out our call for equality. Voice your support for the Respect for Marriage Act now. You can bet that this is just the start of the fight for the repeal of DOMA. But with your support and your actions, I know that we will be successful. Thanks again for standing with the Task Force, and please, take just a moment to contact your representative today.

P.S. Repealing DOMA is going to be a huge fight that we can't win without you. Can you make a donation now to help us ensure the Respect for Marriage Act passes and DOMA is repealed? Thank you for your support.
